The Sumatran rhino is the most endangered of all rhinoceros species due to its rapid rate of decline. Because of poaching, numbers have decreased more than 70% over the last 20 years. Fewer than 80 individuals are surviving in the world, primarily in Indonesia.

Through their research, the Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife’s (CREW) scientists have become world experts on the reproductive physiology of Sumatran and Indian rhinos.
